You Are Unconditionally Loved

Posted: November 1, 2011 in The Love of Jesus Christ

Conditional Love said, “I will love you if…”, “I love you because…”, but Unconditional Love is “Just the way You Are”.
We all need to grow in the Lord and His Unconditional Love throughout our Life time, because God’s Love for His people is so great.
Jesus Death
Some people often called themselves, “I’m Mad”, “I’m Stupid”, I’m Foolish”, “I’m poor”, “I’m Ugly”, but those things does not make any good to them. They can get those identity from, “their family, their teachers, their friends, their environments, communities, cultures and so on”.

They sometimes became some people’s favorite quotes to themselves, especially when it became their “favorite quote”, it can have numbers of effects to themselves, not just themselves, but also to people around them, in their works, in their attitudes, and more of it they are only making themselves a stumbling block to grow in the Lord. “I’m Mad”, “I’m Stupid”, “I’m Foolish”, “I’m poor”, “I’m Ugly”, “I’m Crazy”, they are also not based on our educational levels, not on how many income we get, not on how handsome or beautiful we really look or we are, but words that have been spoken by others in one’s life, it may be during childhood or from childhood, or teenage times, it can also happen after adult-hood, more during childhoods and teenage times. eg: “You’re too MAD”, “You’re too Ugly” and so on.
People can have a Doctorate degree, people can be Millionaire, people can be Super Model, but their inside somewhere can still be much more Poor and still see themselves Poor, Ugly, and Foolish. Many times it happens because of putting more of our measurements to the standards of this world.
Eg. If we keep on quoting “We don’t have money”, “We have very less money”, “I am too fat”, “I am too ugly”, “I am useless” or “I’m ‘always’ making mistakes” all these things will become part of the false identity syndrome that have been imparted to our thoughts.

1. God loves His people unconditionally, no matter our weaknesses, no single performances are needed to make God love us more, He just does.
2. Unlike human, God only sees the things we did as ‘silly’ when we sin before Him, but always ready to forgive them. But, any failures does not define who we are. Eg: My father will still be my father even when I may sin, because he is my father, though he might not like the sins.
3. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and knowledge. That’s the Truth of God’s Words, and the ultimate Truths more than any other things.
4. It’s more than just a word, “it’s a self-VIEW”. It can be broken through receiving the unconditional love of God, not broken by striving in our weaknesses, but by breaking the self view (mindsets) by the unconditional love of God.

Some side effects of these things:
1. To kill that view, people strive in their educational studies more than others, to get a high degree for their name, they may get to be Doctors and so on, but the self-view “I’m foolish” view will not change, because it is a stronghold. And this is not living by faith, it is living by fear when they strive. It will only change by receiving more of the unconditional love of God that they really receive a deep revelation in their soul and change their whole perspective on these topics, because perfect love will drive out hidden fears which are inside, may be from the childhood.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear. (1John 4:18a)
We can show love and respect to one another, but since no one are really perfect, we need to receive and know God more, know His perfect and Unconditional Love. On the other hand, God’s love is also shown from one another.

2. It’s a syndrome that are usually spoken or imparted from childhood or teenage times, either from families, friends, teachers, schools, environments, communities or the cultures.

So, we are to think on the Goodness of God, in His unconditional love and unconditional acceptance of God continually as a human being who need God, not because of anything we have done or not done. People strive so much to be accepted and loved, but God loved each person unconditionally.

Some other Examples:
Where sports are highly valued, people strive to be Sportsmen, Where educations are highly valued, people strive to be scholars. Where businesses are highly valued, people strive to be businessmen, Where servant-hood is not modeled, people strive to be the leader of them all. Where wealth are highly valued, people strive to be rich out of fear that they would be poor than others. We are to live by faith and not out of fear, it is better to have less and live by faith, than having bunch of money which comes out of fear. Where work orientations are highly valued, people strive to work more than others and get 3-4 jobs. Where slim is highly valued, people strive to be slim. Where little bit fat is highly valued, people strive to be little bit fat. Where cute are highly valued, people strive to look cute. Where tall people are valued, people wish they would be taller. Where shorts are valued people wish they would be shorter. All these things are only imparted to us because we view things and ourselves the way people view things.

The thing is people strive to be other things rather than how God created them to be or how God created them, because they live out of fear and not by faith.
To live by faith is to grow in the unconditional love of God. Where evangelist are highly valued, people wants to be evangelist, where Pastors are highly valued, people wants to be pastors, but the thing is, “We just need to be ‘WHO WE ARE'”, just the way God created us to be. God loves each person unconditionally no matter who we are, He gives grace to each one, no one’s perfect, needing each other, to serve one another. No one is greater to another in God’s sight, people who do His will and serve others through the grace given to them, and have a servant-hood are just great in the sight of God. Whatever their works and responsibilities might be. Everyone are loved by God unconditionally, created in the image of God.

Matt 20:25-28:
25Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. 26Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

So, just be “WHO YOU ARE”, and “Like What You Like”, be confident and Bold, but considering others better than Yourself according to Philippians 2.

Phil 2:1-11;
1If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, 2then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. 3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. 4Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:

6Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Also, there is nothing that is really precious in this world;

Everything Is Meaningless:
1 The words of the Teacher, son of David, king in Jerusalem:
2 “Meaningless! Meaningless!”
says the Teacher.
“Utterly meaningless!
Everything is meaningless.”

3 What do people gain from all their labors
at which they toil under the sun?
4 Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.
Ecclesiastes 1:1-4; you can also read the whole chapter of Ecclesiastes 1:1-18.

So, we do not need to strive so hard, or else we will put our identity on what we are doing or how much we have accomplished and done, or in our positions. We just need to be who we are, for God love each person unconditionally.

We are to follow and do good, because God loves us, not because we want to earn love, but because he love us first. When you and I were lost from God, Heaven was meaningless to God, so He sent Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to die for all people of the world, that who ever believes in Jesus Christ will have eternal life, that is how God showed His love for all the people of the world, that much He love us, the people of the world.
Ephe 2:8 also said that: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God– not by works, so that no one can boast. (This is the proved of the Unconditional Love of God that has been shown to us)

It was back in 2006, around the month of Aug-Sept, we were doing our DTS, we were working hard – cooking and also studying, we used to prepare and clean foods late night usually till 10pm, and start cooking again before the sun rise, we were tired and worn out.
One day, by the leading of one of our teacher, we wrote down in a paper:
1. How we think people sees us
2. How we sees ourselves
3. Then we burned them away
4. Then playing music, we are to write, draw, or make with a clay how we felt God sees us.

It was in that moment God spoke to me, “You are my Warrior”, from that time on, being a Warrior became one of my “Identity in Christ”. All my burned out, my weariness, my tiredness were lifted up as I felt the Lord speaking to me, “You are My Warrior” (Important to remember that our fights are not against flesh and blood, not people, from: Eph 6:12). He also spoke to each one of us. My wife too got one that she shared among the group with tears as the Lord gave her new Identity in Christ and set her free from deep inside. It is not a shameful thing to be born again, because it is God’s heart that everyone on the face of the earth be born again, it is also not shameful to be healed and get healed because everyone on the face of the earth got somethings that are needed to be healed, either in physical or emotions, at this moment we are talking about emotional healing, in some part of our lives as a believer of Jesus Christ there are things that the Lord always want to deal with us and get us healed, especially usually after facing different situations and circumstances, and when we got burned out, God wants to strengthen us again with His Love and by telling us “Who we are in Him”. No believer of Jesus Christ can escape receiving more of their identity in Christ and knowing God in a better and different ways from time to time. So, be humble, and let God be God who loves you unconditionally.

Other of our identities as a believer of Jesus Christ, no matter who we are, these things must dig deep into our souls to each one of a believers.
It will be Your Personal Relationship With God that will gives you an understanding of Your True Identity.
1. I am a Child of God (1 John 3:1-2)
2. I am created in the Image of God (Gen 1:27); God knit me together in my mother’s womb (Ps 139:13)
3. I am fearfully and wonderfully made(Ps 139:14)
4. I am made Holy by the Blood of Jesus Christ (Heb 10:10)
5. I am Christ Friend (John 15:15)
6. I am deeply loved by God (John 3:16; 1John 3:1 – How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him).
7. I am a new creation – (2 Cor 5:17)
8. I am chosen by God, and a royal priesthood who belong to God – (1 Peter 2:9)
9. I am chosen of God – holy, beloved – (Col 3:12)
10. The Holy Spirit that raised Jesus Christ from the death lives inside of me. (Tim 1:14)
11. God put me in this world with a plan and purpose for my life (Jermiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future).
12. We are God’s handiwork: – (Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do).

There can be many more besides these things, but these few are some of the main points. As you listen to this song in quietness and with relax, you can ask the Lord what is something that He wants to speak to you, or receive more of How God sees you, He might be giving you New Identity as well. You can often proclaim them in your personal time with the Lord, in your free time, you can think about them, or you can even proclaim them with friends, in your youth groups, teams or as a family. You will be amaged to see the differences that it will made in your own life and in other things you do.
In this video is a song sung by Celtic Woman, “You Raised Me Up”, this was the song we played at that moment when the Lord gave me this identity of being a “Warrior”.
You too can receive a New Identity from the Lord while you play and listen to this song, “You Raised Me Up”.

As you listen this song in the quiet place, let God speak to you, relax and listen, you do not need to perform for anything, you can lay down or sit just simply sit on the floor, or you can draw pictures or write somethings while you listen to this song, how you felt God sees you and is speaking to You.
