Part 6 – (Your True Righteousness that comes from God)

Posted: December 18, 2011 in Foundation on "Identities in Christ", The Love of Jesus Christ

We are to find our Righteousness in Christ alone:

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2Cor 5:21)

As living in a state of a Christian land, i have come across many false righteousness, gaining self righteousness and taking righteousness from others rather than from God.

Many people who works for God, who serve the Lord or who even calls themselves as Christians still find their Righteousness in so many things rather than Christ Himself alone.

Some points could be:

1. Sometimes Pastors kids, kids of missionaries, salvation Army Officer kids, Church Elders kids, kids of an Evangelist and so on, they can often finds their “Identity” in what their parents works. This could be because people often calls them, “You are Pastor kids, You are Missionary kids, You are Salvation Army kids”, and so on, and that is not bad in itself, but that is only the job description of what their parents are working. So, when people heard of those sounds about them several times, they often thought that their Identities are in the job description of their parents or family. Job descriptions of our parents and families are not our “Identities” that we should felt more precious or more Righteous than others. Every believer of Jesus Christ are all precious equally from the heart of the Father God. And also, no single believer of Jesus Christ gets their righteousness apart from Christ. Christ alone is our Righteousness.

Many times people find their righteousness in the wrong places, that is “They placed their Righteousness on what their parents are doing or working, in their parents job descriptions, in what their parents had accomplished”, but the truth is that, we have only one righteousness and that is Christ Himself alone. Many people are lost in some ways from their “Identities” from being made Righteous through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, they felt righteous easily because of their parents job descriptions or works, but that is self Righteousness.

2. Even many Pastors, Evangelist, Missionaries and many more easily finds their Identities in their Job descriptions and works. Many felt more righteous and even more precious when they get those job. The work we do are not who we are, nor they are not our Righteousness.

3. Many finds their Righteousness in their clothing, I have been to the most Southern part of India, one of my friend told me that “If you wear white shirt people will respect you, if you wear black shirt then you will be regarded as ‘not a very good person'”, so if that is the case, “People placed many of their Righteousness in their Clothing”. So, any color of clothes we wear does not make one person become more Righteous, their “Righteousness is in Christ alone”.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephe 2:8-9)
God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. (2Cor 5:21)

So, these are the True Righteousness that comes from Christ alone, we were all sinners worthy to go to hell, but the Blood of Jesus Christ washed away the sins of every person who goes before Him. Not because of Job descriptions, not because of parents and family, not because of shirts color and so on. We can now boldly say that “‘I am a Righteous person’ and ‘Only because of the Blood of Jesus Christ that washed all my sins away'”. And that is who we really are, “We are made Righteous because of Jesus Christ”.

Then we can say, “I am a Righteous person because of Christ Jesus who died for me”.
