The Apostolic Commission of Adam & the New Testament Commissioning:

Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this”. (Isaiah 9:7)

This is what I believe was the Apostolic Commission of Adam and all His descendants.
1. God Commissioned Adam and Eve, which is also for all their descendants:
Gen 1:27-30 – So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
I am referring to the man, Adam, though this Commission were given to both of them Adam and Eve, as we saw the word “Them”, “..male and female he created ‘them’…… God blessed ‘them’ and said to ‘them’, ‘Be fruitful and,..”. For this purpose, God spoke to both of them about this Apostolic commissioned given, both were commissioned Apostolic Commissioned, but we must remember that this is not always the ways God does to both husband and wife, either the husband or the wife are commissioned and then they work together as possible in the commissioned given by God. But for this particular Adam and Eve, these Apostolic Commissioned were given to both of them husband and wife, and also at the same time. So, we could say that both of them were the first Apostles of the earth, though old testaments may not call them Apostles, but according to the New Testament Apostolic Commissioning and studying the Apostles of the New Testament, they seemed to be the First Apostles of the Old Testaments.

In the Old Testament we find that Abraham, Moses and King David were all Prophets of God, but studying the New Testaments Apostles and the way they have the characteristics of the New Testament Apostles, we could probably say that they were a type of what we called New Testament Apostle Prophet, and this is agreed by numbers of writers too.

2. Why do I call Adam as an Apostle of the Old Testament?
1) He was the first man on this earth; He was the pioneer of this earth. The small sentence, “Fill the earth” is a sending phrase, and it’s a father-hood.
2) He was the first pioneer on this whole earth to take care of this earth, with a Commissioned, Authority and assignment from Heaven, which means assigned by God – (Gen 1:27-30)
3) He was given a responsibility directly by God to be fruitful, to increase in number, to fill the earth and to subdue (to rule, to have control, to take care, to be in-charge, to be the head of this world). This was not by his own taking the in-charge and wanting to be the in-charge, but given by God Himself, and it was a pioneering work that no one else has done before.
4) “To be fruitful, to increase in number, to fill the earth and subdue” – in the New Testament terms we could say, “Our works for God must be fruitful”, “to increase in number, to have a movement, not stagnant, to advance God’s Kingdom and multiply, God wants the Kingdom of God to grow on”, in this small sentence “to fill the earth”, there is a sense of sending, as we have said in other writings, “Apostle means ‘sent one”. To fill the earth there needs to be a movement, there needs to be a going, there needs to be a sending, so these are all Apostolic terms. Subdue – this is the Authority of Heaven given to take in-charge, to take care, to have dominion, God’s Kingdom Government. We must also remember that Worldly authority and Kingdom Authority are contrast in so many ways, Worldly authority comes from different external things, but Kingdom authority comes from higher authority and is direct from God. While worldly authority can be demanding, controlling and can be authoritarian, but Kingdom Authority is authority with Fatherhood and Servant-hood, and to be the last.

Adam was called to be a Father to many! – To be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth and subdue. Today, naturally we are born of the first Adam and descendants of Adam, and spiritually we are born of the second Adam, Jesus Christ, who died for all people, through which we became born of God, Children of God. Adam was created to be our Spiritual Father, just as Abraham was our Spiritual Father, the Father of Faith. But because Adam failed, we all died spiritually, but we still became natural descendants of Adam, but through the second Adam Jesus Christ, we all live again, we became the Children of God, born of God.

(Genesis 1:27-30) God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” ………..

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this”. (Isaiah 9:6-7)

3. The Apostolic Commissioned of Adam (Genesis 1:27-30) and the Apostolic Commissioned of the New Testament Apostles (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 45-49).
He said to them, “Go into the entire world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16:15-18)
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
If there are no lost souls, no sins, no sicknesses, no poverty, no war with the Devil, no temptation, no works of our enemy the Devil, and no counseling, no teaching and preaching are needed, and we are close enough with God like Adam and Eve walked with God and Communion with God in the Garden, then Jesus wouldn’t need to come and die for the world, nor there would be Apostolic Commissioning that was given to the Disciples and for all believers, though it is particular Apostolic Commissioning, it is for all people that God gave as well.
So, if Adam and Eve didn’t fall into sin, those commissioning of the Apostles and for all believers would not be needed to be given, then our Commissioning would be what God Commissioned to Adam and Eve and his descendants in Genesis 1:27-30.
Also, there are much connections between what God entrusted to Adam and Eve and what God entrusted to His disciples in the New Testament.
What Satan has stolen from Adam and Eve and their descendants, Jesus Christ, through His dead and Resurrection, has taken back the Authority Satan stole from man, and Jesus who came in the form of man and died as a man has said, “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me, therefore go…”. That’s the Resurrection power of Jesus Christ. So, Jesus sent us with Authority. In some sense, all believers of Jesus Christ are sent from Heaven, because the Holy Spirit that lives inside each believers is also an Apostolic Spirit (Luke 24:49), and is sent to us by Jesus Christ, but particularly for the Apostles, Apostles means “sent one”, same as, we all can teach and should teach one another, but the assignment of a teacher and being a teacher is to teach and be a teacher of the word, or we all can do evangelism, but being an evangelist and to really do the works of an evangelist is assigned by God, they are specific callings and assignments from God.
So, since the Authority that Satan has stolen from man (Adam and Eve and their descendants) has been taken back by Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ entrusted us as a believers of Him, we can now pray with God’s Authority upon us for the Kingdom of God to come on this earth and to advance the Kingdom of God – “May your Kingdom come, May your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth” (Matthew 6:10).
We are not to underestimate what God can do in advancing His Kingdom, for the sake of anything, because “All Authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus Christ”. It is God’s desire to continually advance His Kingdom, let the Kingdom of God advance in all areas, to the ends of the earth.
As Prophet Zachariah said to Zerubbabel in (Zech 4), when Zerubbabel laid the foundation of the temple, the Prophet prophesied that Zerubbabel’s hands will also complete it, he also said, “(So he said to me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty)”. God puts His Holy Spirit very important, “By my Spirit”. As we also find in the New Testament, Jesus said to His disciples in
Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
also in
Luke 24:49, “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”,

Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this”. (Isaiah 9:7)
