Generosity is a matter of the heart:

Posted: August 19, 2015 in Other Teachings

Generosity is not a matter of how much you have, generosity is a matter of the heart. It doesn’t matter how much you have, whether you have plenty or whether you have less, you can always be generous to the people who are in need, and for other purposes of Advancing the Kingdom of God.

Generational Blessings:

The word of God said,

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Pro 11:25)
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, And He will repay him for his good deed”. (Pro 19:17)
“He who is generous will be blesses, for they share their food with the poor”. (Pro 22:9)

Be willing to give generously to those who will never repay you back in your whole life time. If you are generous today in whatever you have, the Lord is sure to reward you with generational blessings. The word of God said that if we are generous to the poor and those who are in need, we are investing in the bank of the Lord. If you are generous today in whatever you have, the Lord is sure to reward you with generational blessings.

Generosity is Righteousness:

Even though these are all the benefits, the purpose of true generosity is not a matter of whether you receive the reward back, it is not about gaining and being repayed back from above, it is a matter of the heart.

Therefore, whether we receive the reward back or whether we don’t receive the reward back, the point is that as a believer of Jesus Christ, we are called to be generous. A believer’s heart is to be generous, that’s a part of a character, it is a matter of the heart.

As proverb 12:10 said, “The righteous man cares for the need of his animal”.

Ellen G. White said that, “True generosity is too frequently eaten up by prosperity and riches”.

And the word of God also said, “A good name is to be more desirable than great wealth”. (Pro 22:1)

There is nothing wrong with prosperity and riches, God wants to give prosperity to His people, but generosity is much greater than prosperity and riches. And Generosity is part of righteousness as proverb said, “The righteous cares for the needs of his animal”. And if the love of money and wealth are the root of many evil, then generosity is part of righteousness.

“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good; and the evil person out of the evil treasure brings forth what is evil.” (Matt 12:35; Luke 6:45)
