– Our Identities in Christ gives us Godly boldness and courage from our inner being, which doesn’t come out of any other outward sources or positions we hold on earth.

– When the enemy attack our worth and value in any form of ways, we remind him of our Identities in Christ that we are God’s beloved children.

– Our Identities in Christ are our weapon of warfare to fight against many enemies attack in our life, the Devil is defeated when we proclaim our Identities in Christ. In this world we all face all kinds of things, the enemy is there to attack us in many different forms of ways, spirit of condemnations, spirit of fear, shame, feelings of unvaluable or feeling unworthy, every kinds of lies the enemy attack us with, our Identities in Christ can destroy them, restore them, and can also protect us.

The truth is that, the enemy is not suppose to touch the child of the King in any form of ways.

– Being recognize itself might have no problem, but sometimes there is a possibility that some people can have so much needs of being recognize, which are unnecessary. They need others to recognize that they hold this and that positions, there are possibilities that there’s an Identities in Christ problem, it might not always be Identities in Christ problem either, but there are many great possibilities if that’s their worth and value.

– A need to perform before God and others can be born out of not being build up in our Identities in Christ, especially a need to perform before God. Our love for Him and our passion serve Him, not a need to perform.

Father identity

– Knowing our Identities in Christ helps us to approach God boldly and with confident, knowing He loves us so much, dearly loved and accepted by Him, it also helps us in our feeling and experiencing His presence.

– Knowing our Identities in Christ prevent us from putting our value on the positions we hold and other things. Holding positions doesn’t make us feel more valuable, and not holding positions doesn’t make us feel less valuable, because we are saturated in our Identities in Christ, precious and valuable, dearly loved by Him.

The positions you hold today are not your value and worth, they are your responsibilities not your Identities, your Identity is in Christ.

– Knowing our Identities in Christ makes us value others.

– David Chawngthu

Knowing our Identities in Christ has a great power to destroy strongholds build by the enemy in our lives, the lies of the enemies build in us through others, even our own parents, friends and communities.

God loves us so much that He wants to build us up in our Identities in Christ. When we are not build up in our Identities in Christ, the Devil will give us wrong self images. Jesus said, “The thief (satan) came only to steal, kill and destroy”, to destroy us, every part of us, and everything in this world, while Jesus came to give us life, abundant life. The word of God also said that Satan is the Father of lies.

One example from a true story:

Let’s look at from one example, it was 2006, my wife and I were in Discipleship Training School, we had a speaker and a teacher, as well as one of a good leader from Australia who taught a week on the topic of “Destiny by design”. She shared one true story about a lady who was a beautiful lady, but got a wrong self image who was not able to see herself beautiful, and that they used to tell her “You are a beautiful lady”, but she could not believe it even though she was a beautiful lady.

Deceives of the enemy:

So, in the same way, just as the beautiful lady, the Devil can deceive us with wrong pictures about ourself in many different ways, for some people they might not able to see themselves precious, for another it might be shame, for another the Devil might have build a structure in them, or has destroyed their Godly confident, for some people they might have a thought that they were not born to be successful, and some others can have a self image of being stupid because someone in a family or her teacher used to call her stupid, you can say, “I am wise”. For some the Devil might have given you the spirit of condemnations in your thought, but the word of God said, “There is now no condemnations for those who are in Christ Jesus”, “God did not sent His son Jesus Christ to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him”. For some people the Devil might deceive them by thinking that they were “born to be a Sinner”, no body in this world were born to be a sinner, for another they might not able to see themselves as a child of the King of heaven and earth, for another they might not able to see themselves significant or valuable to God, for some people they might have a problem to feel the love of God and to know that God really really love them.

God wants to destroy all these lies the Father of lies Satan has put in our thoughts by the truths of the Kingdom of God.

The truth is –

You are Extremely Valuable to God,
You are Highly Precious,
You are the child of the King of heaven and earth,
You are a Prince/ You are a Princess, (1 John 3:1; John 1:12)
You are Extremely loved,
You are Highly Significant,
You are Highly Special to God.

The more you know you are valuable, the more you can value others. The more you know you are precious, the more you can see others precious.

Identity In Christ

You are Highly

Don’t let the Devil deceive you by his lies about you, you can proclaim them saying, “I am”, “I am Extremely Valuable to God”, and from time to time reminding yourself and meditating on these words, there is power to break strongholds in proclamations of our Identities in Christ.

How great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1)

As a Children of God, God loves us So much more than we can ever imagine.

Some reasons why God wants to reveal His Fatherhood to us:

– For those who got no father or mother, who got no parents, God is a Father to the Fatherless and a defender of their cause.

Deuteronomy 10:18 – He defend the cause of the Fatherless
Psalm 68:5 – A father to the fatherless

– And for those who still got father on this earth, it is the heart, mind and will of God to reflect HIS Fatherhood to our children on earth.

Malachi 4:6 says – He will turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise I will come and strike the land with a curse.”

Sometimes it seems like it is more easy for people who got no father, no mother or no parents to understand the Fatherhood and parenthood of God, rather than those who think that they are satisfied with their earthly fathers or parents.

God wants to reveal His Fatherhood to us not just because there are millions of children and youths who got no father, mother or parents.

There are many types of Fathers in this world, and we got no perfect fathers and mothers, neither parents. They all have weaknesses, some have anger problem, some abusive to their kids in words, deeds and actions. Some other fathers could not provide for the needs of their children, others are Authoritarian or abusively controlling, some other parents have very less involvement in their children’s life, especially in times of childhood and days of youths.

Even if we think we’ve got the best father and mother in the world, we still got to know His fatherhood in our heart, and that will transform our lives to become like Him.

Therefore it is the will of God to reveal Himself to us, who He is. And it is the will and heart of God to reveal His parenthood to us, to reveal His heart and thoughts to us as a Father, as a mother or as a parent.

These verses below are good verses to ponder, think (meditate) and puts our thoughts on…

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! (Isaiah 49:15)

How great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! (1 John 3:1)

Psalm 139 is also a good and powerful chapter and verses that reflect so much of the Creator, the Father God.

His thoughts toward you: (meditation)

God loves you more than you can ever imagine, LET NO ONE make you doubt that. LET NOTHING you face in life make you doubt that.

You are the center of His attention, He give His full attention upon you. His thoughts toward you are more than ALL THE SANDS of the earth combined together, all the sands of America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and all the sands of the earth combined together.

You are SO MUCH valuable to God, and You are SO MUCH loved by God.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
Were I to count them,
they would outnumber the grains of sand— (Psalm 139:17-18)

There’s an awesome quote by James Jordan –

That’s a great quote and great revelation.

Importance of Healing of the hurts:

Shame and hidden shame are produced by hurts, at the same time shame produces hurts. Therefore healing of the hurts are important.

Hurts can produce shame, and shame can produce hurt, it’s a vice versa. And remember, it’s just not shame and hurts alone, shame and hurts can produce the spirit of fear, and can produce the spirit of rejection, spirit of abandonment, depression, isolation, bitterness, anger, frustration, and can lead to many different kinds of sins in this world.

Some of the reasons how shame can come and how to defeat the spirit of shame:

First of ALL, it’s not a problem overcoming shame, once you got Christ and fully understand His love toward you, then you defeated shame, it’s that simple.

Shame can come while we do not know, How Shame can come –

1. Sin and welcoming the spirit of condemnation in our heart: Proclaim and declare your Identities in Christ. Eg – I am a child of God, I am made righteous in Christ, I am a new creation.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1)

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new has come. (2Cor 5:17) You can proclaim and say, “The old has gone, the new has come, I am a NEW CREATION in Christ Jesus”.

2. Divorce parents, parents separating, broken family (shame, hurts, pain, depressions)

Single Parenting: In America alone, 10.4 million single mother families and 2.5 million single father families (who already got kids).

Single Parenting Results:

85% of all youths sitting in prisons are from single parents
63% of suicides nationwide are individuals from single-parent families.
75% of children in chemical dependency hospitals are from single-parent families.
90% of all homeless and runaway children
More than half of all youths incarcerated in the U.S. lived in one-parent
families as a child
63% of youth suicides
85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders
80% of rapists motivated with displaced anger
71% of all high school dropouts
75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers
70% of juveniles in state-operated institutions

The love of God is the most powerful key to heal all these hurts.

3. Being teased a lot in bad names, especially during childhood, either by friends, family, relatives, teachers or at school or communities. Eg: Being called Fatty boy/girl by friends and families. Or everyone calling you ugly.

Proclaim and declare your Identities in Christ, who you are in Christ, and receive the deep love of God. Eg: I am created in the image of God

4. Rejected by friends as a child: Proclaim and declare your Identities in Christ, who you are in Christ, and receive the deep love of God. Eg: I am a child of God, I am deeply loved by God.

5. Being abused in words, deeds and actions – rape, mistreatment, knocked out from home: Proclaim and declare your Identities in Christ, who you are in Christ, and receive the deep love of God. (see the HEALING below)

6. Being betrayed by loved one’s, friends, family and co workers: Proclaim and declare your Identities in Christ, who you are in Christ, and receive the deep love of God. Eg: I am a child of God, I am deeply loved by God, God will never leave me nor forsake me. (see the HEALING below)

7. Poverty – Being poor than the average:

We need to know that our values in life are not measured by how much wealth, money and materials we’ve got. Everyone on earth is valuable because God has set our value, that’s Jesus Christ. We need to get back to our Identities in Christ, who we are, that we are valuable. Jesus Christ is our price and our worth.

– I am a child of God,
– I am deeply loved by God, He love me as I am,
– I am bought with the blood of Jesus Christ, I value the blood of Jesus Christ,

The shoes we wear or not wear, they are not who we are, they are not our identities. The cars we have or not have, they are not who we are, they are not our values or our identities. The house and lands we have or not have, they are not our value, they are not who we are, they are not our identities. The finances, money or materials we have or not have, they are not who we are, they are not our Identities. Our Identity is in Christ.

8. Our parent’s life, as well as our brothers and sister’s life, our children’s life, and the life of our loved one’s.

While we neglect all these things and we thought they got no side effects, many times they got some or even many different side effects in the inner being.

You feel shame because you are hurt, hurt by sins, or hurt by different situations you face in life. When you overcome shame, many of your hurts will be healed.

Learn not to be offended, but then in life, we all get offended in different situations and circumstances, everyone on earth.

Overcoming shame and forgiveness are one of the main KEYS to healing hurts. For some situations, you will need to forgive again and again.

1. Forgive whomever you need to forgive, again and again as necessary. At the same time for some specific situations, you might need to eliminate some of your unhealthy relationships. For example,

– From your Soul mate with whom you have had sex before,
– Your ex-girl friend/ boy friend, especially one’s whom you played with sexually and emotionally,
– Someone who kept on abusing you in words, actions and deeds, from someone who kept on mistreating you in different form of ways, from someone who kept on betraying you.
– For teenagers, it would not be good to associate with drug addict friends, or friends who are liars to their parents.
– For people with past history, eg – Drug addictions, it would be good not to associate with other drug addicts.

(The point is that it is not necessarily healthy to build relationship with everyone, even though relationships are important).

When one of Jesus’s best friend betrayed Jesus, Jesus said in Matt 26:24 – “For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!”

Whereas, when Peter betrayed Jesus, Jesus forgave Peter again, and use Peter for His Kingdom more than ever before.

2. The Truth will set you free –

– Face the truth about yourself and the situation, accept the truth about yourself, especially in where you need to face, the truth will set you free, (Eg – Counselling by good counselors, being accountable to someone, or even being accountable to one another as a couple).

– Always know that God loves you so much, the deep truths about God’s love will set you free,

– The truths of God’s word, the revelational truths, and the revelational truths of God’s word will set you free.

3. Proclaim and declare your Identities in Christ, declare them in your bed room, in your living room, in your house, in your prayer place, the truths about your Identities in Christ, who you are, they will set you free, will give you freedom, joy, boldness and courage like you have never experienced before.

4. The love of God is one of the most powerful KEY to heal most of our hurts, shame, hidden shame, fear, and to have true boldness and courage.

Perceiving God’s thoughts towards you/ renewing of your minds/ Identities in Christ.

Perceiving God’s thoughts for your life and for your own personal benefits, and to be more useful in God’s Kingdom.. TRY THIS STUFF..

1. Write down all the negative things how people had talked about you, say about you, had judged you, or how you think people think about you and judged you, every negative small

2. Now, read them once again and tear them off.

3. In another paper write down how you felt God sees you.

For example:

People may think or have spoken to you, or may be in your own thoughts, that you are stupid, you are not able, you are ugly, you are just a foolish dude, you are useless, always making mistakes, good for nothing, you’re just a small little kid, you are not effective, your works are not worthy, you’re just a poor dude, you’re just a sinner, or in other ways, those are false identities, they create false Identities and will try standing over your boldness, your courage, your abilities, strength, Godly self image, Godly self esteem, and your identities in Christ…

TEAR THEM OFF – – – they are not to stand over them..

No one is exception in these things, we all face something because we live in this world, but we are not to be conformed to the pattern of this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Or in a more creative ways, God may say to you “You are like a beautiful rose in a garden, you are beautiful to me, you are like a beautiful rose to me and in my sight”.
Or, “You are like a monkey, that is active, quick, potential, trustworthy, able to do many things”.
Or, “You are my Diamond, the most precious diamond, you are precious to me more than anything else in the world”.
Or, “You are like a tree that bears many fruits, you are useful for the Kingdom of God, you are not useless, I know your works and you deeds”.
etc etc etc…

These things will help you to be set free, these truths about “How God See’s You” will set you free, will give you freedom, transformed you, change your life and thinking, refreshed you, strengthened you, gives you more abilities and boldness.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. – Romans 12:2

The importance of Unconditional love, especially receiving and showing the unconditional love of God:

Crippled in personalities, soul and spirit is produced by shame or hidden shame. Shame makes a person crippled, they are not able to do what they are supposed to do because of their hidden shame. They are not able to be bold or courageous because of their hidden shame. Shame kills boldness and courage of people. So, the root cause of a crippled life is shame.

But, what is the root cause of shame? The root cause of shame is fear. People have a fear of what people would think of them, what people would speak about them, then they fear, and are not able to do what they are supposed to do. They live a life of fear, and fear produces shame, that people would not be able to do what they are supposed to do. Now, how do we deal with fear? and what does the Bible talk about fear?

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear – 1John 4:18

Fear produces shame, and shame produces crippled life and crippled personalities, to some it produces abusive controlling personalities, to others not able to do what they are supposed to do. And it is this love, especially the unconditional love of God that will bring transformations, that will drive out fear, shame, abusive controlling reactions, and will heal the crippled life and personalities, which will bring joy, strength, happiness, boldness and courage.

THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, especially the unconditional love of God will drive out all fears, shame and crippled life, and will replace them with security, joy, strength, boldness and courage.

Lack of Joy, peace and happiness, they all could come out of fear.
Performance orientations (fear of making mistake, wanting to look perfect before others), controlling reactions out of fear and wanting to look good, lack of boldness and courage, they all come out of fear, lack of unconditional love.

2 Timothy 1:7-For YAHWEH hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (peaceful mind and heart)

#Unconditional love

The focus of the parable Jesus spoke “The Lost Son/ the prodigal son”L, the focus was not the son, the focus of this parable is the Father, God as our Father, the Father heart of God.

When the prodigal son came back to the Father, the Father was rejoicing, happy, glad, and was filled with joy much more than the prodigal son. The Father here represents our Heavenly Father. The Father God
is more happy than us when we were lost and found, when we came back to him. The Father God ran to his son, hugged him, clothed him, dressed him, there was a feast and celebrations. God rejoice much more than we our-self rejoice.
The Father God was not just a statue or pillar standing over there. HE MADE A FEAST AND THERE WAS CELEBRATION. These things are figurative speeches of the Father God, who our God is to us.

While he was still a long way off His father saw him:-
– He RAN TO his son,
– Threw his ARMS AROUND him
– And KISSED him.

The father said to his servants:
– ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him.
– Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
– Bring the fattened calf and kill it.
– Let’s have a feast and celebrate.
– For this son of mine was dead and is alive again;
– He was lost and is found.’
– So they began to celebrate.

There was music and dancing

– Zephaniah 3:17 – The God who take Great delight in You, who quiet/give you rest with His love, who dances over you, Who rejoice over you, who sing songs over you, who rejoices over you with singing.

The Joyful Father, the running Father, the hugging Father, the celebrating Father… that’s the expressions of the heart of the Father God for You. YOU ARE IN THE HEART OF THE FATHER GOD.

May the Love of the Father God flood your soul,
God Bless You
