1. Why do I put on bandana in the middle of my preaching, in one of my preaching?

It was back in 2008, I was appointed to preach on one Saturday night in my church, in the Salvation Army, Aizawl Bazar Corp. As I was preparing, I have a sense in my spirit the Lord said, “Put bandana on your head when you preach this part of the message as a demonstration of what you are preaching”, it was a risk, but I have a sense the Lord said something like “Breakthrough and moves of God”, something like that to put in words. The message of that part was, “Do Not Judge (judgmental)”.

I am able to write this because the message was not just for our church, it was especially for the Northeast India traditionalism and religious spirit and religious systems, and also Globally needed in numbers of areas. I believe Mizoram is also quiet high on this traditionalism and religious spirit and religious systems as well, and then Northeast India and India, but also Globally the message can be relevant for numbers of areas of the world.

So, I took the risk of putting bandana on my head, when I put on that bandana in one of the middle of my preaching, especially the sentence, “Do not Judge”, then a strong fire from God fall upon me, the Heavy weight of God’s Glory fall upon me and I could not stand, i could not speak properly, I was like a drunk man who could not stand and talk properly as the Holy Spirit fall upon me, and that was one of the thing that breaks open the moves of the Holy Spirit in the church during those seasons, a tremendous hunger for more of the Lord was build in our church members, especially youths, people were slain in the Spirit and fall down, people who never speak in tongues started speaking in tongues. Almost every night numbers of the church youths came together for some few weeks or may be months to be in the Presence of God after normal church services, hunger for more of God, it was just a meeting together for hunger for more of God and people coming as they are just like that, they do not need to wear uniform, there were no preachers, it’s just God’s presence, the grace of God among us, and it is breaking numbers of religious judgmental as well.

The message that i was preaching itself was not just for our particular church as I have written, and it was only one night that I was preaching. I am glad today that I could be preaching and sharing numbers of times on this topic “Do not Judge, (Judgmental)”, through this ministry that the Lord has established.

One of the reason that the Lord told me to put bandana, rather than just the “Messages in Words”, but the “Messages in Actions” is that, the Lord wants to break open Heaven and pour out His blessings, “but the ways of doing things, the traditionalism and religious spirits were strong like most churches in Mizoram, Northeast India, and many parts of India”, there were and are strongholds in the mindsets. So, the Lord wants me to do in actions, rather than just speaking in words, acting the words in demonstrations, because seeing is more powerful than hearing, and it can easily break forth more into the hearts of others rather than only speeches, make things understandable which are hard to understood only by words, especially when they are somethings like strongholds in the mindsets, the sense of seeing can be more powerful than the sense of hearing or reading, and can be remembered for long time as well, that is Scientifically/ naturally and Spiritually relevant in many ways. Demonstrating with actions are necessary for others to understand, and that is apart of communicating the words, and the message was, “Do not Judge (Matt 7:1), Judgmental”. (Demonstrating with power or demonstrating with Holy Spirit inspired visualizations).

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 about the demonstration of the Spirit’s power and His message – This is talking about the Holy Spirit demonstrations, visible demonstrations of the Holy Spirit power.

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power. (1Cor 2:4-5)

So, those are the reasons, it’s a good news and not bad news. And I want to also say that, one of our message we often used, “Do not Judge” (Judgmental), is not just a mere man made up, they are with the BREAKER ANOINTING of the Holy Spirit that we are preaching, sharing and writing here.
Okay, those are the reasons. Next is a message I would like to continue on – to be a blessings to the Body of Christ.
2. Message on Religious Judgmental

ANOTHER REASON FOR NOT TO BE JUDGMENTAL: THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS FOR ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE – (This also the other parts of the reason not to be Judgmental).

“The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ (Luke 14:21)

“Do not Judge, Do not be Judgmental” – This is the Word of the Lord.
The Lord is Zealous for all types of people, different types of people in the Churches, and for all the lost, every single human beings on the face of the earth.

We have a Big God, no person is similar to one another in this whole world, all people are different even just in our outward looks and faces, and that is the Greatness of God, our different DNA, even to advance the Kingdom of God.

The measurement of a church or churches controlling and being judgmental of people’s personal things could be the measurement of their insecure leaderships.

The measurement of a believer being judgmental to other people’s outward appearances could be the measurement of his or her own judgmental sin and religious spirit that he or she welcomed, and the religious systems that has controlled his or her mindsets which make him or her not able to accept others as they are. Religious people and religious systems judges many things religiously which are not sins, or things which does not bring temptations to sins.

God is not only one way mentality, He created each person with different DNA, there are no single person with the same DNA that He created. All these different people’s DNA coming together in the Body of Christ formed the Body of Christ. But, religious people do not like these types of things, because they sees not by the Spirit of the Lord, but by their man made religious systems and brought up, and then judges people with those things religious systems they were brought up or taught, many of them are just false religious systems, religious judgmental, and evil spirits, which is religious spirit.

The solution for all these kind of problems can sometimes be – “Be Who You are, be yourself and let other people be themselves, you do not need to control and judge people’s personal things, for they do not try to control or judge you to be like themselves either, remember, you are not God, so fear the Lord”.

Especially in the House of our Father God, everybody can be Who they are, just as we are, and everybody can go to the Father just as they are, without the religious systems and religious self made judges judging the brothers and sisters in Christ. You be who you are, you be yourself, and let others be who they are, for God has a Bigger picture of all, which forms the Body of Christ. So, for all these reasons, and because the Bible said so, “Do not Judge by mere Appearances”.

May the Lord God Almighty Bless You as You read this (1) testimony and (2) article.

WORSHIP (Connected with God 24/7)

Posted: March 1, 2012 in Worship

What comes to your minds when you hear the word ‘WORSHIP’? At least for the most part of Northeast India, we can agree that Music is the first thing that comes to our mind. I believe that goes for different parts of the world too.

When I was asked to write on worship, the Lord put a burden in my heart to start praying for a serious breakthrough of understanding what ‘WORSHIP’ really means globally, especially in INDIA. The Bible says ’the Truth will set you free’ and I believe the enemy knew this so well that many of us are blinded from knowing this simple yet profound meaning of worship.

Worship is not music; worship is not songs, not paintings, nor dance or drama etc. these are just the expressions of worship. Worship cannot be confined to a box; it is simply our connection to HIM.

The more we stay connected to Him, the more we become like Him. It changes our perspectives and realized how much He loves us and sees how Great is our God.

As Matt Redman, author of the song ’ Heart of Worship’ clearly says, ‘God is altogether lovely, He is self- sufficient’. In other words, He’s transcendent. ‘He’s matchless and He is unique’.

You look through the Bible and see that God breathes, but you only see God BREATHING out in the Bible. He breathes mercy; he breathes holy anger. He breathes into this thing and give life. He breathes into this thing and that thing; He’s always breathing out. So God breathes, but you never really find Him breathing in. The reason is that he’s self- sufficient. He’s not like us. We need to breathe- in air, but not God.

There is nothing that God needs. That gives a great picture of how high above us He is. He’s the only self- sufficient one there is. Everything in Physics, in astronomy, biology- everything needs something else to exist. We ourselves, we can live because we are breathing in the breath that God’s given us to breathe. He is the God who breathes out but never breathes in.

Psalm 50, “ You thought I was altogether like you?” (v.21). And in the same psalm He talks about that He doesn’t need anything. The book of Acts, chapter 17 says, “He is not served by human hands as if he needed anything?” (v.25). Then in Romans; “who has ever given to God that God should repay him? For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things?” (11:35, 36)

He doesn’t need our worship one tiny bit; there’s nothing that we can give to Him that isn’t already His in the first place. You can’t add to God.

But one beautiful thing is that God LOVES our worship. So we are trying to paint mystery in Worship: the self-sufficient God who delights in the tiniest, almost worthless offering in the world’s eyes. This is a God who is infinite but yet altogether intimate. The fact that God is altogether ortherly, and a God who draws near to us and gets involved with our lives.

True meaningful and pure worship is a response to His revelation. And one of the primary results of receiving radical revelation from God is being commissioned and then comes repentance. Part and parcel with the worship experience and seeing God is HUMBLING OURSELVES. We see our own differences and His kindness leads us to repentance. Worship isn’t a place to hide, but a place to be found.

So as we connected with God we keep growing in deeper knowledge of who our God really is and our faith and trust in Him grew stronger each day and that is what produces a change of life (Eg: characters and the fruits of the Spirit – added). That is why we always hear people saying ‘worship is a lifestyle’. True worship requires a change of life and that changes can only happen when we get connected with Him.

I was really challenged when I heard the teaching on Worship from Kim walker who is also one of the worship leaders from ‘Jesus culture’. She said something like this: ‘worship has to grow, it has to change, and it has to move forward and progress’.

It is so true; we cannot stay in the same place friends. How amazing would it be coming to a place where we just don’t always depend on our Pastors, Evangelists, youth Pastors and worship leaders anymore? Nothing wrong on having them as our spiritual leader and help us get to know and understand His word better and also have worship leaders who help us get connected through beautiful songs and music.

But are we going to depend on them alone for our spiritual growth? Are we going to depend on songs to help us connected? Depend on music? If they don’t preach well then we go away from God? If they don’t lead worship the way we like it, then we don’t worship? We cannot stay here.

What would it be like? We all get connected with God in our own personal ways throughout the whole week, excited and looking forward to fellowship with the body of Christ, and as the worship begins on Sunday services, we all go straight into the heart of worship without the need to depend on Music or nothing else but just His presence… (That connection between you and God). Wouldn’t this bring such a Joy to the father’s heart? Are we ready to move forward and progress?

John 4; 23-24: says, “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

This is what a true worship would look like. It is pure and real. God is seeking for that kind of worshiper who has connected with God everyday and chooses HIM above all else. Now this has nothing to do with Music, styles, appearances and anything else anymore, but it is now simply all about HIM.

Can we start praying for a church where all the believers having a right understanding of worship, who would come and worship God already being connected even before entering the Church?

Are we ready to Choose Him over our pain, sorrows and life questions? Can we say, “Ok God, more than an answers, I want YOU. I want YOU more than I want answers”.
Matt Redman wrote in his songs ‘though there’s pain in the offering… blessed be your name’.

Are we also ready to worship God at all times?

Let’s get connected with God 24/7

Reading the Holy Bible to Worship:
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. (2 Tim 3:16)

Everything God did to man, either in teaching, in rebuking, in correcting and in training are all done out of love. Eph 4:15 said, – Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
So, when we do, we are to do it out of love and concern for others, not for the sake of argument, but for the good of others or for the good of all, and in love.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1-2)

God didn’t give us the Holy Bible that we would worship the Holy Bible, but He gave us the Holy Bible that we would worship Him. We read the Bible and we came to know more of who God is, His ways and His characters, that our minds and our thoughts may be transformed and we would live a life of worship unto the Lord. Teachings, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness from the Word of God must ended us up into a life of worship.

We are to Preach, teach, deal, heal, work and proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ until worship is multiplied, and all nations, tribes and tongues worship Christ as their Lord.

Rev 7:9-10 – After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

“Salvation belongs to our God,
who sits on the throne,
and to the Lamb.”

Phil 2:11-12 – That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

All our readings, all our works for God, all our inner dealings and healing, all our teachings and preachings, all the things we do for God on this earth, they must end up in Worship, for the Glory of God the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. And we are to teach and preach, to deal, heal and work for God until a lifestyle of worship is multiplied. This is our Mission as a believer of Jesus Christ, “To declare the Lordship of God to all nations, all tongues, all tribes and all people of the world, until each person on the face of the earth worship Christ as Lord”.

In Worship and services and other things, orderliness must not be for the sake of orderliness. When orderliness are used, i believe they should be for the sake of the advancement of God’s Kingdom and for God. In a war, there used to be an order where the Armies are placed, and spread out that they would win their wars, they have a strategies. In the same way, orderliness in worships and services must not be for the sake of orderliness and just to look good and nice, those are not the point.

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace. (1 Cor 14:33) – This verse here did not say that “God is not a God of disorder but of order”, this is what many people often mistaken, they change “peace into order”, order and peace are different, so orderliness is not for the sake of orderliness. It is also not about making rules and regulations and being legalistic either, it is opposite to that and I believe Spiritual discernment is needed for Spiritual Orderliness. I also believe that it must have a helpful purpose for the advancements of the Kingdom of God, or else it will only become a religiously set man made bunch of rules and regulations, or rules made out of fear, or either made up with controlling out of insecurity.

Below are some Small tips, corrections, growth and improvements that i wanted to make which had been functioning in those ways for generations to generations. I don’t say that the things I wrote are the only ways to worship, because the Holy Spirit can move in all different ways in times of Worship. But my point here is that we would enter into true worship, in many of our cases we need some corrections and orderliness in our Christian Worships. Spiritual Orderliness does not mean looking nice, neat and clean outside. Here I’m not speaking about celebration worship where we dance around, jump, shake, shout and do all those stuffs. I’m speaking about Intimate Praise and Worship. I’m also not speaking about private worship, but corporate worships. When i say, “Orderly Worship”, I’m not talking about people praying in tongues during worship times,I’m also not talking about people slain in the Holy Spirit, I’m not talking about Holy Spirit laughter and all those kinds of stuffs, or other moves of God that can happen. But, I’m talking about unnecessary messy and distractions that we can make during Worship times. It seems as if I’m also standing with the one’s who are leading the Worships and for the further advancements of the Kingdom of God.

For Intimacy with God and to know God’s Highlight in a Corporate Worship:
Some of the things that I believe we need to improve in many of the different worships are –

Talking around too much, laughing and speaking all different topics with friends and joking around in the middle of changing songs and worships: In the middle of changing songs, the worship times didn’t finish, we are still to be in the presence of the Lord with a heart of prayer, which could sometimes just be staying silent in those times, we could also use it as a special times for being sensitive to God, though there are no such rules as “Do not talk and don’t speak with one another”, we can talk and speak if it’s needed, but for the overall good of the environment of worships, to know what God is highlighting during or from the corporate worships, to give support to the one who lead the worship, and for a better environment of worship and God’s presence, we are to be sensitive to God in those times. I don’t say be religious, but I’m talking about changing our focus in Worship times.
We need to know the differences between singing songs and Worship: Simply singing songs are just a waste of time and boring in many cases, if we sing we must take it with the heart of worship, even though it may just be 1 or 2 songs. Singing songs is from the lips, Worship is from the heart, if you sing God’s songs from your heart, then it is more than a singing, it becomes Praise or Worship.

In the middle of changing songs during Worship times:
There might be people who have a word of knowledge or a prophecy to give out, they can inform the worship leader that they have a word of knowledge for everyone that they believe God spoke to them to give out. They might not be perfect and the words might not be accurate, or either it might bring encouragements and uplifting words, or can even bring a BOOOOMMM!!! breakthrough in the service, others can discern and judge the word, not judging the person. Let there also be a freedom to make mistakes in those times, and the worship leaders or others can cover up whatever mess they might be bringing with all gentleness, that the environment of Worship didn’t cool down but continued to be lifted up for God and for the overall worship.

In those times, It could be that God wants to:
– Encourage His people who are in the service
– Draw them closer to Him or speak a divine words of invitation and telling them that He loves them so much or other things,
– It could be a comforting words for others
– It could be a Bible verse that God is giving out to the people who are worshiping corporately

Sometimes it could just be a time of silence, and to hear God for oneself.

For others who are not leading the Worship? –
– It is not the time to go and share your personal life and what you are going through
– It is not the time to share your testimonies
– It is not the time to talk around, bring distractions around, unless the Holy Spirit is leading you to pray for somebody, or you got some word of knowledge, prophecy or encouragement for some particular person to tell to them during the Worship, you can go and tell them in personal in those cases. If it is for the corporate you can inform the worship leader or some other leaders that they can make some rooms for you in the mid times or in the middle.

Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. (1Cor 14:29-30)

Points to remember on this verse is that, it does not need to be Prophet who have the words and the one who weights, everyone can prophesy, can get words of knowledge, everyone can get words of encouragements or anything that God is speaking, it could come from anybody, and anyone can weight the words, there is no limitation of only Prophets, this statement was particularly for the church of the Corinthians, and Prophets are not the focused, it’s the Spiritual Orderliness of the functioning. I have seen teachers getting words during worship times, evangelist continuously getting words of knowledge, and many different people getting words in those times. So, it is not limited for some people, anybody could be the one who receive the words.

There are no cut rules such as this is the only way it must be done, but these are some of them that are good to know in general.

We need to know when is the time of celebration worship where we jump, dance around, shake your boobs and shout, sometimes it could come both with Intimacy worship. But many times when it is time to be in intimate Praise and Worship, people have a mindset and traditions of shouting and dancing around, we need to know the timings when it is celebration praise and worship, and Intimate Praise and Worship. When our focuses are on the dancing around, the shouting or the jumping, most times we tend to forget the real Worship, and many times God has no room to deal with our lives or to reveal Himself to us, and sometimes has a lack drawing us closer to God. And again as I has often said, “Worship is the heart attitudes, it starts from the heart”.

When we focus more on other things, especially in celebration worships, we often fly away from the heart of Worship. For Worships are not about singing, dancing, dancing around, musics, shouting and all those stuffs, although those are apart and they can be helpful in our Worship times. When the focus of the Worship feed-backs became the dancing around parts, the shouting and jumping and all those stuffs rather than what God is revealing in the Worship time? How is God directing the Worship service in the hearts of people? What are the main focus that God is highlighting? Is it that God reveals His goodness, His Mercy, His Greatness, dealing with our sins and release His forgiveness, His Holiness, His Father-hood, His unconditional love? What is God doing and with what type of presence God manifest and reveal Himself to us into our hearts? These are the more important things for Highlighting after worships or later, rather than the shaking parts, the dancing around, the shouting and all those stuffs.

Many times, to recognize the Highlights of God working in the hearts of people as a corporate worship, we need to clear up the environment of everybody wanting to choose songs during the worship times or in the middle of changing songs, the unnecessary hyper choices, unnecessary messy talking in the middle of the songs, unnecessary distractions and so on. This is particularly for Worship, in other things we are to listen to one another, serve one another, learn from one another and so on, but particularly for Worship times, Worship leaders in some ways are doing intermediary works.

Many times people called it Worship and all their feed-backs are about the dancing around and the shouting, and had no feed-backs on What God is revealing to the church, to the hearts of the people as a whole during the corporate service or Worship. It is good to have a feed-back on dancing around and shouting, but those are not the points and are only the side parts. Worship is from the heart, it is about the heart attitudes, and we are to give feed-backs much more on What God reveals as a whole to the church, teams or as a Corporate, Does it draw us closer to know God more and in which ways? What kind of presence He is revealing and showing Himself, What God is saying as a whole? Does God reveal some Highlights of directions? It could be something that are lacking or needs to improve, it could also be confirmations of what God is doing and has been doing, or any other things. What is God Highlighting in your personal life and as a corporate from your Worship times?
